Our History
1948
Karl Kolb was founded in 1948 with the aim to equip laboratories around the world with premium quality German equipment.
1953
In 1953, Karl Kolb became the first German supplier to publish a complete print product catalogue in English. It was issued annually and remains a valuable source of knowledge for laboratory outfitters and purchasers in many of our countries to this day. In the same year, the first regional office for the MENA region was established in Baghdad, Iraq.
1968
Opening of the office in Libya.
1972
Karl Kolb now exports its products to 86 countries around the world.
1983
Mr. Karl Kolb received the Federal Cross of Merit in recognition of his achievements in promoting German engineering and exporting German equipment worldwide.
2010 - 2012
Opening of the offices in Basra and Erbil, Iraq.
2014
In recent years, Karl Kolb was awarded a contract by the Iraqi Government for a large-scale project involving the modernization of all medical universities in Iraq.
2020 - 2022
Establishment of a PCR COVID-19 testing laboratory for the Ministry of Health.
2021
The Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) awarded Karl Kolb Phase I of a university rehabilitation project. Universities and various faculties - including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and engineering - were completely re-equipped with new laboratories and educational equipment.
2024
Phase II of the MoHESR Libya project was launched, including the supply, installation, and training for additional equipment at universities throughout eastern and western Libya.
